ÖKK OPTION is possible for the following supplementary insurance policies:

Five- or ten-year guarantee
You can choose between a five-year or ten-year Option. This means that you submit an application now (including a health check) and can change to the required supplementary insurance at any time within the next five/ten years without having to again provide information on your health. If you choose the five-year Option, you pay 10% of the premium of the respective supplementary insurance product. If you opt for the ten-year Option, you pay 20% of the premium of the respective supplementary insurance product.

Requirements
To take out ÖKK HOSPITAL, ÖKK NATURE or ÖKK SMILE as an Option, ÖKK START or its Option is required. To do so, you must pass a health check.
You can convert ÖKK OPTION into the required supplementary insurance up to the age of 65. It will then be another year before you can receive benefits from this supplementary insurance. Please note that depending on the product, the waiting times can be accumulated (see also the information on qualifying periods).

ÖKK OPTION is aimed at anyone who does not currently need a particular insurance solution, but who in future wants to be unconditionally accepted into a certain insurance policy. It is best to arrange this when you are healthy – after all, your health could change or deteriorate at any time. An Option is the best choice in this situation: after you have submitted an application (incl. health declaration) for ÖKK OPTION, you then have five or ten years to convert the Option into the designated supplementary insurance policy, safe in the knowledge that you will be accepted unconditionally into the policy. There is then a one-year waiting period before the insurance cover kicks in and the standard premium applies.
The Option can be concluded for a duration of five or ten years. It can be renewed after the selected Option duration expires.
An Option fee is charged for each supplementary insurance policy which has an Option attached. With five-year Options, the fee is 10% of the premium of the respective supplementary insurance policy, while the ten-year option is 20% of the premium.
You can terminate ÖKK OPTION as at the end of each calendar year when the contract expires. The notice period is three months. It is also possible to terminate the insurance as described above within the one-year waiting period. The Option also expires once the term (five or ten years) is reached and is not renewed, if the ÖKK START basic module is terminated or if the age limit (65) is reached.
