Your options
With ÖKK CASAMED SELECT, you can make a choice depending on the situation: do you first pick up the phone and contact the Medgate telemedical centre? Would you rather enter your symptoms in the Medgate app? Or do you first of all contact one of our partner pharmacies? In order to be referred to a doctor, therapist or hospital, you must always have an initial consultation from Medgate or the partner pharmacy, otherwise you must cover the costs yourself. Exceptions include emergencies as well as gynaecological, paediatric and optometric treatments. As is the case when visiting a doctor in person, your personal information is protected at all times.
How it works
What to do in case of illness
- Contact the specialist doctors at Medgate (by phone or via the app) around the clock or look for an ÖKK partner-pharmacy.
- If necessary, Medgate or the partner pharmacy will refer you to a specialist or hospital.
- Exceptions: for gynaecological, paediatric or optometric treatment, you may consult a specialist directly without having to first contact Medgate or a partner pharmacy.
- You must always have your ÖKK insurance card to hand.
- Submit your doctor’s bills and claim documentation to ÖKK.
What to do in case of emergency
- In case of emergency, you do not have to get in touch with your first point of contact. You can contact your nearest hospital or emergency doctor directly.
- Notify Medgate or your partner pharmacy within twenty days after the emergency and discuss the next steps together.
- If these steps are taken, ÖKK will cover the costs of the emergency medical treatment.
