Your options
With ÖKK CASAMED 24, depending on the situation you can choose whether to pick up the phone and contact the Medgate telemedical centre or enter your symptoms on the Medgate app. The Medgate doctor will provide advice over the phone and then determine the next steps together with you. If necessary, they will then organise a referral to a specialist, therapist or hospital. To be referred, you must always have an initial consultation from Medgate, otherwise you must cover the costs yourself. Exceptions include emergencies as well as gynaecological, paediatric and optometric treatments. Your personal information is protected at all times.

What to do in case of illness
- Contact the specialist doctors at Medgate (by phone or via the app) around the clock.
- If necessary, Medgate will refer you to a specialist or hospital.
- Exceptions: for gynaecological, paediatric or optometric treatment, you may consult a specialist directly without having to first contact Medgate.
- You must always have your ÖKK insurance card to hand.
- Submit your doctor’s bills and claim documentation to ÖKK.
What to do in case of emergency
- In case of emergency, you do not have to get in touch with your first point of contact. You can contact your nearest hospital or emergency doctor directly.
- Notify Medgate within twenty days after the emergency and discuss the next steps together.
- You must always have your ÖKK insurance card to hand.
- Submit your doctor’s bills and claim documentation to ÖKK.
- If these steps are taken, ÖKK will cover the costs of the emergency medical treatment.
